Their campfire had gone out sometime in the night, and Vaan and Penelo were huddled under a fur blanket next to Ashe and Basch, who were sleeping against a boulder. Balthier was still asleep, leaning against the rock wall with a black cloak draped over him, and Fran was curled up next to him with her head in his lap. Simone had already woken up hours before anyone else and left the campsite to go hunt.
